Dear Colleagues,
This message is to announce the Community Satellite Processing Package (CSPP) Suomi NPP SDR v1.5 for VIIRS, CrIS and ATMS and VIIRS EDR v1.2 software for direct broadcast is now available for download.
What's New in CSPP SDR Version 1.5:
- A new LUT is included that provides a VIIRS Day/Night Band stray light correction.
- ATMS and CrIS SDRs can now be processed in parallel on multiple processor cores; the VIIRS multi-core processor option was added in the previous release.
Typical pass processing times are provided in the documentation for 1, 2, 4 and 8 cores. As an example, a pass consisting of 8 VIIRS granules completed processing in 3:40 (3 minutes and 40 seconds) using 4 cores on an Intel Xeon Dell computer with 128 GB of RAM.
- VIIRS software is ready for M-Band 7 reconstruction when downlink of CrIS Full Spectral Resolution data begins.
- The VIIRS SDR software has been updated to NOAA IDPS version Mx7.2.
- The target CSPP OS is now CentOS 6 (from CentOS 5).
- A new SDR LUT distribution website for the Mx7 software is now used.
What's New in CSPP VIIRS EDR Version 1.2:
- Three new products have been added: Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI), Enhanced Vegetation Index (EVI) and Surface Reflectance.
- The VIIRS EDR software can now be processed in parallel on multiple processor cores.
- Cross granule dependency has been removed; a full suite of EDR products will be produced for each granule in a pass. Previous versions would have reduced granule yields requiring either 3 or 5 sequential SDR granules in order to produce 1 EDR product.
The software, documentation and test data are all available at the CSPP website: http://cimss.ssec.wisc.edu/cspp/
Regards,
The Wisconsin CSPP Team
