geocatL2 files

Hello,
Can geocat L2 files such as the example below be read and remapped with Geo2Grid?

http://tropic.ssec.wisc.edu/archive/dat ... 181441.hdf

This HDF file can be converted to netCDF with nccopy.

Hi Bob,

Geocat L2 is not publicly supported or guaranteed to work in Geo2Grid. That said, it looks like Satpy, which is used for all file reading in Geo2Grid, does have a reader for it. Theoretically if you provided "-r geocat" to your geo2grid.sh command it should "just work". But again, this is not tested or guaranteed to work.

Further or better support would require some level of funding for development and testing which we don't currently have for geocat support in Geo2Grid.

I wish I had funding to support this development, but currently do not.
I will try this suggestion out with the understanding that it may not work correctly since it is not supported.
